《大学英语》五、六册的《教师手册》（五、六）是为使用这两册教材的教师编写的。学习这两册教材的学生，课前最好不要参考《教师手册》，以利于培养自己的自学能力。\n《教师手册》每课的内容包括背景介绍、课文概述、释义、课堂提问、练习答案、课文译文等六个部分。有的课文没有“背景介绍”，或因为没有必要，或因为没有多少背景材料可以提供。释义部分包括语言和背景知识等方面的难点。凡学生通过查阅一般字典或其他工具书能独立解决的问题，不列入“释义”部分。
