This book is part of the Macau Cultural Tourism Series compiled by the Institute For Tourism Studies Macau (IFT). Macau is no stranger to intercultural exchange, with over 400 years of history from the early settlement of the Portuguese and when the Catholic Church began to build churches in Macau. Inscribed as one of the cultural sites on UNESCO s World Heritage List in 2005, the Historic Center of Macau offers a unique and attractive tourism experience with its numerous Catholic churches. Through this book, the author hopes to increase the understanding of Macau s cultural heritage in both Macau s residents and visitors.
