简介
In the 1990's South Africa abolished apartheid and declared to move not only to a non-racist society, but also to a non-sexist society. This book examines how South African women who have been brought up and highly influenced by patriarchial institutions deal with the concept of non-sexism. Specifically, the book looks at women in one of South Africa's most powerful churches, the Zion Christian Church. It explores how these women perceive the concept of non-sexism, translate it into their daily lives, and mediate the conflicts of the church's dictates and the government's mandate.
