简介
伊索(Aesop)的生平事迹茫然难考，人们几乎一致认为，伊索生在公元前620年左右，而且生下来就是奴隶。他先后有两个主子桑索斯和亚德蒙，二者均是萨摩斯人。亚德蒙见伊索博学多识，机智风趣，就大加奖赏，还他以自由。伊索的人生道路，与后世哲学家斐多、迈尼普斯和爱比克秦德相同，出身卑贱，与人为奴，后来腾达，名声大噪。伊索寓言传世两千余年，版本繁多。但纵观国内外伊索寓言选本，多经一再改编，有些已面目全非，演变为幼儿故事。本书则力图保留伊索寓言未经雕琢的质朴风格，无论语言还是插图，均追求原汁原味。
