简介
《综合教程》前四册旨在帮助高校学生在中学英语学习的基础上，进一步提高和完善“听”、“说”、“读”、“写”、“译”诸方面的基本技能，实现《大学英语课程教学要求》规定的“一般要求”的教学目标，并向“较高要求”的目标过渡。第五、六册则协同《视听说教程》、《阅读教程》、《快速阅读》和《写作教程》的第五、六册引导学习者实现“较高要求”的教学目标。
本册为第五册的学生用书。第五册按照篇章的修辞模式编排课文，旨在引导学习者熟悉篇章的修辞模式，把握篇章的内在逻辑和层次体系，弄清文章脉络，从而准确地理解篇章的主旨和作者的写作意图，鉴赏作者的写作技巧；教学重点也从句、段的理解转向通篇分析和写作技巧的鉴赏，把EXPLORE THE WRITER’S IDEAS和EXPLORE THE WRITER’S TECHNIQUES作为课堂教学的主线；所设置的课内和课外学习活动比前四册更具有思辨性(详见“写给同学的话”)。
