简介
Set during the 1930s, this film tells the story of a painter who is handicapped during a battle and sees all his students killed in conflicts among warlords. The painter leaves the troops and settles down in an idyllic village where he becomes a kite maker. After he marries a local girl who never speaks, a young music student comes to town and steals away her affections. Suddenly, Japan's war machine rolls into the quite village and everything beautiful is doomed.
