晨读背诵有必要吗？
相当必要，而且有百利而无一害。晨读的目的在于培养英语语感。语感是一种对语言的感受能力。语感对于英语学习的基础性作用，正如叶圣陶先生所言：“在语言教学中，语感是听说读写四种能力中最核心的因素。离开了语感，文学作品无从欣赏，听说读写能力无从说起；语感的水平决定着听说读写的水平。”培养语感必须进行大量的、输入性的语言训练。而朗诵无疑是最广泛、最有效的形式。它可以帮助考生增加对词汇和句子结构的熟悉程度，提高接受信息的速度，帮助考生积累语言素材（词汇和句式），提高写作水平和文学素养等。
背诵真题有必要吗？
绝对有必要。历年真题的重要性不言而喻。无论是英语培训名师，还是考试达人，都对历年真题推崇有加。历年真题，可以说是考试命题专家集体智慧的结晶，其文章的题材、脉络结构、行文风格等都极具典型性。认真背诵本书中的几十篇精华选段后，考生会发现，自己的阅读速度和理解能力有了明显的提高，做阅读题的正确率也大大增加，甚至可以进一步揣摩命题套路和命题点。
如何选择合适的背诵材料？
精彩演讲——来自各国精英的演讲名篇，语言睿智、精炼，诵读起来朗朗上口、鼓舞人心。
时事聚焦——在出处、内容和题材上与真题相似，主要为newsweek和bbc等杂志和网站上的最新热点新闻、文化轶事等，难度适中。考生在诵读的过程中既可以洞悉热点题材，又可以把握听力文章的风格。
真题精选——精挑细选六级真题中所有最新、最经典、最适合背诵的选段。题材全面，内容和长度合理，让诵读的效果最大化。
名篇诵读——选自英语大家的经典佳作，文字优美、寓意深远，内容积极向上。背诵这些内容，可使考生英语水平更上一层楼。
有提高背诵速度和效果的好方法吗？
很多考生希望能够背诵真题，但要么无从下手，要么背诵效率低，费时误事。基于此，本书中的所有选段：
选文长度符合背诵规律，适于背诵。在挑选选段时，均从符合背诵规律的角度出发，长度控制在200词左右，易巩固背诵效果，同时又减轻了背诵负担。
难词、长句不再是“拦路虎”。在诵读英语的过程中，无可避免地会遇上生词和难词这些“拦路虎”。我们给这些“拦路虎”加注了音标及释义，并根据意群在文段中标注了断句符号。这些都可以帮助考生扫除阅读障碍，使诵读轻松流畅，从而提高诵读速度和效率。
当然，背诵也是有一定方法的：
理解记忆——在背诵文章之前，应该先通读文章，把握文章主题，理解全文的含义，为后面的背诵工作奠定好基础。
反复诵读——流利阅读是倒背如流的前提，万事都不可操之过急。
记录关键词——开始背诵前，可以先将段落的关键词记下，作为背诵过程中的提示。特别需要注意的是文章中的关联词，这些词能够体现句群关系和文章段落间的内在联系，对于记忆文章有很大的帮助。
