简介: 大学英语教学改革的深化和完善迫切要求我国高等院校尽快建立起适合新时期人才培养目标的教学体系,其核心任务就是尽快建立符合本校办学定位、办学特色的教学体系,其中教材建设是核心之首。教材是教学的基础,教材建设要符合发展和专业发展等大战略、大布局。没有好的、合适的教材,教学改革就是一句空话,只能停留在肤浅的空谈上,误国误事、误人子弟。因此,教材的编写在体现办学特色和办学定位上尤为重要。高等学校专门用途英语(ESP)系列规划教材的编写就是要服务于美术、设计类艺术专业的大学英语教学,符合美术、设计类艺术院校专业办学特色和办学定位、人才培养目标和学生个性化发展需求,提高学生的听说读写译能力以及在学术、职业领域交流的能力,增进对于不同文化的了解能力,满足对于英语在日常生活、学习、专业领域中进行有效交流的需要。 美术、设计类艺术院校(包括绘画、雕塑、摄影、建筑、艺术设计、实验艺术、艺术管理、美术史论等专业),学生群体庞大、高校数量众多、专业特色明显、学生特点突出,尤其是美术、设计类专业属于社会文化类别,专业发展的知识结构较其他学科要复杂得多,任何的政治因素、经济现象、文化思潮、社会情态等都会对这类艺术产生影响,使得艺术这一文化现象具有了高度的时代感和相互的交融性。因此,教材的选材广度和深度、教材的知识构成结构对于学生的个性发展意义重大。 正是基于新时期对于人才培养的新要求和美术、设计类艺术院校的特殊发展需要,基于以上的教学理念和教材编写理念,一批长期从事艺术院校大学英语教学、对艺术院校英语教学改革做过长期深入研究的教师们精心组织、策划、设计和编写了这套美术、设计类艺术院校大学英语系列教材。
